Design: Although it's your regular clip and word art fare, it isn't full of stupid gradients and clip are that could make you blind. Fine with me. 7.5/10 Content: Hmm. General school events. Keith Davis comes here. Red Ribbon Week. A stage production. Etc. The writing is peppered with question and exclamation marks (which can get annoying, as two stories start like that.) and the sentences for the preview of said stage production are short and choppy. Not that I can blame them, cause this isn't the New York Times. 6/10. Final: 6.75/10. 20 Years since Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeier http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hazelwood_v._Kuhlmeier One of the worst Supreme Court decisions ever, this case delt with student speech in a school sponsored newspaper. The articles that caused controversy were about teen pregnancy and divorce, serious issues that should be talked about a lot more. But no, the Court decided, the kids aren't mature enough to read this stuff! Let's ban it and overrule our history making decision Tinker v. Des Moines! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinker_v._Des_Moines_Independent_Community_School_District At The Polls During lunch on October 30th, there were two things happening: The official school newsletter was being passed out and there was mock voting. I voted for Obama, while, as I could clearly see from behind the booth most others voted for McCain. It was high energy, but I didn't count how many actually did vote, but it must've been from 20 to 100 or more. Whatever, it was fun and interesting, and i'd like to see it happen again in 2012.
